<h2>Kate Lennen will be a Fierce Advocate for All of Us!</h2><img src="https://run.imgix.net/5c5e3f95-2727-45c4-8f23-096942c4e482/d7fb46bb-fa5d-49b6-ad5b-4973b7b0993b/d7fb46bb-fa5d-49b6-ad5b-4973b7b0993b.jpeg?ixlib=js-3.8.0&amp;bri=0&amp;con=0&amp;sat=0&amp;high=0&amp;shad=0&amp;usm=0&amp;rect=0%2C115%2C2511%2C3537&amp;w=1500" alt="" caption="" align="left" alignwidth="40" tiltdirection="left" variant="framed">Kate is no stranger to the PA 47th Senate District.&nbsp; She was raised in a strong UNION household, attended the University of Vermont and then received her Law Degree from the University of Pittsburgh.&nbsp; Kate and her late husband raised their four children in the Mars Area School District.&nbsp; She was very active in the community with youth sports and served on the board for My School Preschool, the Mars Area Soccer Club, and the MASD PTO.&nbsp; Kate is affiliated with Myers Law Group, LLC.&nbsp; In addition, Kate has been an advocate for democratic values and involved with campaigning for democratic candidates since the age of 14.&nbsp; Kate hopes to be able to promote these democratic values in the PA Senate.<h4></h4>

Our Campaign’s Top Issues

Women’s Reproductive Rights - The capacity to form one’s family as your personal or family resources allow should be a given. So too is the sanctity of controlling one’s own body and health without control by others. Until we prosecute child support claims with the same level of insensitivity we do abortions, government should stay out of such decisions. At no point during pregnancy is a politician more qualified to make decisions about your health than you and your health care providers.

As a fierce advocate for women’s reproductive freedom, Kate will protect and advance women’s reproductive health and self determination where only she and her healthcare provider make those decisions. Pennsylvania ranks 31st in the nation with a grade of C for women’s reproductive freedoms. Kate will advocate to have our state ranked among the best.

Women's Reproductive Freedom

We can honor the Second Amendment like any other, while acknowledging no right is absolute and all rights are regulated one way or another by states (including PA) and the federal government.&nbsp; This is why I want to propose: “COMMON SENSE GUN LEGISLATION”.

More than 80% of Americans support common sense gun legislation because a majority of adults have been personally or had a family member who has been effected by gun violence. Among those solutions are: keeping guns out of the wrong hands with universal background checks, establish red flag laws, waiting periods, ban bump stocks and high capacity magazines. Kate wants to make our schools safe.

Common Sense Gun Legislation

Kate is a fierce advocate for equitable Funding for education. Pennsylvania has one of the largest gaps in educational spending in the country. This gap is especially noticeable in Senate District 47. While Gov. Shapiro's recently enacted 24-25 education budget provided an increase of $285million and helps to reduce educational disparities, I will fight to provide more equitable funding.

Equitable Funding for Education

Without opportunities to make a decent living, our “Life, liberty, and Happiness” are much harder to achieve. Our state and our nation have been their most successful when jobs are plentiful, and wages are fair. &nbsp;Wall Street is not our only barometer of a healthy economy. So are things like stability of positions and salaries, access to needed goods and services, and availability of affordable credit. &nbsp;I whole heartedly support Josh Shapiro’s Economic Development Plan.&nbsp; For example, in Aliquippa- Versatex$2.65 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loan,&nbsp;$400,000 Pennsylvania First grant,&nbsp;$160,000 workforce development grant to train workers.&nbsp;(2024-25) budget proposes $600 million in economic development initiatives&nbsp;.&nbsp;&nbsp; Create State Level Child Tax Credit for Families&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Create State Level Grants for Sr Home Care Providers (tax credit)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Property Tax Relief for Seniors (Tax Credits)We’ve experienced other periods of inflation in our history. The current one started with poor handling of the Covid virus by the prior U.S. Administration, accelerating when the pandemic swept across the globe. Nations from whom we buy most of our goods suffered too, resulting in supply chain disruptions. Most of those chinks have been patched, yet costs of goods and services continue to climb unreasonably. The obstinance of the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates after jacking them up by 5% in just one year from 2022-23 hasn’t helped curb inflation much and should be ended. There’s no logical explanation for continued rising prices than greed.
